Malappuram, Sept. 21 -- Keralam Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan visited Chokkad's disaster-hit T.K. Nagar and the nearby Kottapuzha area in Malappuram on Monday to assess the situation.
During his visit, the Chief Minister met with the family of Sajitha, who is still missing, to offer comfort and support.
Satheesan assured the affected families that full assistance would be provided, adding that compensation and relief measures will be finalized at the next cabinet meeting.
The visit follows a tragedy on Sunday evening, when a sudden flash flood in the Kottapuzha River near Nilambur washed away a group of tourists and locals, killing five people.
Search teams recovered two bodies on Sunday night and three more on Monday morning.
