Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 30 -- Kerala will bring in a comprehensive legislation to provide legal protection to senior citizens, Chief Minister V D Satheesan said on Wednesday.
Inaugurating a proclamation rally at Vivekananda Park, Kowdiar, organised as part of the campaign for the International Day of Older Persons, Satheesan said the proposed legislation would ensure stronger legal safeguards for the elderly.
He said the government would ensure that no person in Kerala was left without anyone to care for them. New initiatives involving the younger generation and caregiver training courses would be introduced as part of efforts to strengthen care and support for senior citizens.
