Thiruvananthapuram, Oct. 11 -- Joint inspections at cinema theatres across Kerala have led to the registration of 26 cases, issuance of five show-cause notices and imposition of fines totalling Rs 62,000, with violations including short-weight popcorn sales, under-measured beverages, improper food storage and non-compliance with labelling and weighing regulations.
The inspections were conducted by the Legal Metrology, Food Safety and Civil Supplies departments on the directions of Civil Supplies Minister Anoop Jacob following complaints of overcharging, failure to display price lists and lack of drinking water facilities in theatres.
