Thiruvananthapuram, April 25 -- In response to the intensifying heatwave, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan chaired a high-level online meeting to review the situation and roll out a comprehensive set of measures aimed at safeguarding public health and essential services.

The government will ensure the availability of drinking water, ORS, and sunstroke first-aid facilities at key public spaces, including markets and bus stands. Temporary shelters will be installed in crowded areas, while district collectors have been told to explore reducing traffic signal wait times in consultation with police to ease commuter stress under extreme heat.
