Alappuzha, July 11 -- Kerala-based peace activist and President of the Peace Foundation of India, Biju Joseph, popularly known as 'Gandhi Biju', has been awarded the 2026 Universal Records Forum (URF) World Record for installing the largest number of Mahatma Gandhi statues globally by an individual.
The URF recognised Biju Joseph's extraordinary contribution to promoting global peace through the installation of more than 10,000 statues of Mahatma Gandhi between 2011 and 2026 across India and several countries, including the United States, Mexico, Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
The statues were distributed free of cost through the Peace Foundation of India to spread Mahatma Gandhi's message of harmony, peace and non-violence.
