Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 13 -- The Kerala Police has equipped its official mobile application, Pol-App, with an advanced SOS facility to enable the public to seek emergency police assistance with a single click.
The facility is particularly useful for people travelling or those who feel threatened or face an emergency in isolated areas. On pressing the SOS button once, the user's GPS location is transmitted within seconds to the police control room, which functions round the clock.
The alert is immediately passed on to the nearest police patrol vehicle, enabling the police team to reach the location promptly.
