Thiruvananthapuram, July 13 -- The Government of Kerala has issued directions to observe one day's State Mourning on July 13 following the demise of Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, father Amir of the State of Qatar, in line with instructions from the Government of India.
An order issued by the General Administration (Protocol) Department said the former Qatar ruler passed away on July 12. As a mark of respect, the Ministry of Home Affairs has decided that State Mourning will be observed throughout India on July 13.
During the mourning period, the National Flag will be flown at half-mast at all places where it is regularly displayed in accordance with the Flag Code of India. There will also be no official entertainment on the day.
