Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 11 -- It is disappointing that people's representatives in Kerala, who should be arguing for the Malayalam language, are instead taking a stand for English, said A Vinod, National Coordinator of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas and Central Trustee of Bharatiya Bhasha Manch.
In a statement issued here, he said it was disappointing that some MLAs from Kerala protested and boycotted a two-day training programme organised in Haryana under the leadership of the National Commission for Women for women people's representatives, citing the non-availability of training in English.
The incident raises the question whether Kerala's people's representatives stand for the Malayalam language or for the English language, he said....
