Thiruvananthapuram, July 5 -- Kerala General Education and Minority Welfare Minister N. Shamsuddeen has written to the union Minister for Minority Affairs, urging the Centre to take immediate steps to expedite passport processing for pilgrims applying for Hajj 2027 and to issue necessary directions to passport authorities to ensure that eligible applicants do not miss the opportunity to undertake the pilgrimage due to procedural delays.

In his letter, the Minister referred to the notification issued by the Hajj Committee of India on June 22, 2026, which states that online applications for Hajj 2027 will be accepted until July 20, 2026.
