Thiruvananthapuram, July 17 -- The Kerala Labour Department has sought a comprehensive report on the mass layoffs carried out by IT company Talrop, following allegations that nearly 300 employees were dismissed without prior notice and without payment of pending salary dues.

The decision was taken at a meeting convened at Labour Bhavan under the chairmanship of Additional Labour Commissioner K.M. Sunil, following directions from Labour Minister Adv. Bindu Krishna. The Ernakulam Joint Labour Commissioner has been asked to submit the report by next Monday.
