Kochi, July 14 -- The Kerala High Court came down heavily on the State Government for its continued failure to implement its judgment on the protection of Ashtamudi Lake, granting it a final four weeks to fully comply with the directions while warning that contempt proceedings would continue in the event of any further delay.
Hearing a contempt petition, a Division Bench led by the Chief Justice was informed by the State counsel that implementation of the July 2025 judgment had been delayed as a new government had assumed office following the change in administration. The government sought additional time to execute the court's directions.
