Kochi, Oct. 9 -- The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the state police to register an FIR against Opposition Leader and CPI(M) Polit Bureau member Pinarayi Vijayan, his daughter Veena T and son-in-law P A Mohammed Riyas over alleged financial transactions involving Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited (CMRL) and Exalogic Solutions.
Justice A Badharudeen issued the order while allowing a petition filed by activist-lawyer K M Shajahan, who challenged the state government's decision to conduct a preliminary inquiry into the allegations instead of registering a criminal case under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
