Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 13 -- Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has extended his heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to the people of the State and Keralites across the globe on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day.

In his message, the Governor said that as citizens of the world's largest democracy, it was the sacred duty of every citizen to safeguard the freedom, equality and unity bequeathed by the founding generation and uphold democratic values that ensure dignity and justice for all.
