Bengaluru, April 10 -- A 15-year-old girl from Kerala who went missing during a family trip to the hill ranges of Chikkamagaluru was found dead on Friday barely 150 metres from where she was last seen, raising troubling questions over how a massive, multi-day search operation failed to locate her earlier.
The Class 10 student, Sreenanda from Palakkad, had disappeared on Tuesday evening near the Manikyadhara waterfalls in the Baba Budangiri hills, shortly after posing for a group photograph with relatives. Her absence was noticed minutes later, triggering an extensive search involving police, forest officials, disaster response teams, and thermal drones.
