Thiruvananthapuram, July 7 -- Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala has ordered the formation of a high-level task force headed by Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Ms Poonkuzhali IPS to investigate the comparatively high number of POCSO cases reported in recent years under the Walayar, Kollengode, Meenakshipuram and Kozhinjampara police station limits in Palakkad district.
The task force will comprise representatives of the District Janajagaran Samiti, District Women's Cell, Sakhi, the District Child Welfare Officer, and women's organisations. It has been directed to be constituted within three days and submit its findings to the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department within three months.
