Thiruvananthapuram, July 17 -- The Kerala Government on Friday clarified that Mission Samudra is designed to attract investments worth around Rs 10,000 crore over the coming years to develop a world-class maritime and shipbuilding ecosystem in the State, dismissing media reports that interpreted Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan's recent television interview as referring to a single investment proposal.
In a statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Department, the Government said the Chief Minister's remarks reflected the State's long-term vision of transforming Kerala into one of India's premier maritime and shipbuilding hubs.
