Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 5 -- In one of the biggest post-flood relief packages announced by the Kerala Government, the State Cabinet on Wednesday approved enhanced compensation for flood victims, increased housing assistance, special financial support for affected families, farmers, shop owners and businesses, besides unveiling an AI-based dam management system, scientific flood mapping and a comprehensive Disaster Resilience Programme to minimise future disasters.
The Cabinet also decided to provide Rs 8 lakh as ex-gratia to the families of those killed in the floods, enhance financial assistance for fully destroyed houses and houses lost along with land, extend emergency relief to all flood-affected households, and accord State honours t...
