Kochi, June 19 -- Dr Joy Alukkas, Chairman and Managing Director of the Joyalukkas Group, has welcomed the Kerala Budget proposal to establish a Global Gold Hub in the Kochi-Thrissur corridor, describing it as a transformative initiative that will significantly strengthen the state's gold and jewellery industry.
Reacting to the Budget announcement, Dr Alukkas said the proposal, backed by an initial allocation of Rs 10 crore, is expected to elevate Kerala's gold trade by creating world-class infrastructure and a dedicated economic ecosystem for the jewellery and precious metals sector.
He said the initiative would turbocharge the state's jewellery landscape by improving logistics, reducing operational costs and formalising trade channels. ...
