Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 11 -- The Kerala Drugs Control Department has prohibited the use, distribution and sale of a batch of Nimbadi Choornam after it was found to be of substandard quality in laboratory tests.
The affected medicine, Batch No. CH133, was manufactured by Mangalodayam Pharmaceuticals Private Limited, Changaramkulam, Kokkur PO, Malappuram. The batch, which carries an expiry date of March 2029, failed the quality tests conducted at the drug testing laboratories of the State Drugs Control Department.
The Deputy Drugs Controller (Ayurveda), who is also the State Ayurvedic Drug Licensing Authority, directed that the particular batch of the medicine should not be used, distributed or sold.
