Thiruvananthapuram, March 26 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has completed the scrutiny of nomination papers for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, with 985 candidates remaining in the fray.

The scrutiny process was carried out by Returning Officers in the presence of candidates and their agents. The proceedings were fully videographed to ensure transparency in the electoral process.

Kerala, which has 140 Assembly constituencies, will see these candidates contesting in the polls scheduled for April 9, 2026.
