Thiruvananthapuram, May 20 -- Kerala Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar today approved the portfolio allocation of the newly sworn-in Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) government led by Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan.
The announcement came two days after the 21-member ministry assumed office.
Chief Minister Satheesan retained key departments including Finance, Law, General Administration, Ports, Airport and Metro Rail. Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala was allotted the crucial Home portfolio along with Vigilance, Prisons, Fire and Rescue Services, and Coir.
