Thiruvananthapuram, June 9 -- Kerala's much-awaited free travel scheme for women in Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) buses will come into effect from June 15, with the state government expediting measures for its implementation.

A meeting convened in the chamber of the Chief Minister at the state secretariat has reviewed the progress of the scheme and the steps required for its rollout.

The chief minister directed officials to complete all procedures connected with the free travel program on an urgent basis so that the scheme could be launched as scheduled on June 15.
