Kochi, March 22 -- Opposition leader in Kerala Assembly V.D. Satheesan has alleged the existence of a 'covert political understanding' between the CPI(M) and the BJP in the Palakkad Assembly constituency in the run-up to the Kerala Assembly elections.
Elaborating on the charge, Congress leader Satheesan said the CPI(M) has intentionally fielded a weak candidate in Palakkad. He argued that this move is aimed at splitting the votes of the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF), thereby indirectly benefiting the BJP and improving its chances of winning the seat.
He further claimed that such a strategy points to a tacit arrangement between the CPI(M) and the BJP, despite their public portrayal as ideological adversaries.
