Kochi, June 18 -- The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has seized mobile phones worth around Rs 35 lakh during a surprise enforcement raid at a retail outlet in Kadavanthra after detecting alleged violations of mandatory certification norms.

The raid was carried out by officials of the BIS Kochi branch at Hello Store, located at Petriz Building near IDBI Bank on Sahodaran Ayyappan Road, to verify compliance with the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021.
