New Delhi, June 24 -- Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday questioned the legal validity of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government to probe the alleged theft of offerings at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Addressing the issue, Kejriwal claimed that the SIT lacked legal authority and sought clarification from the Uttar Pradesh government regarding the legal provisions under which it had been constituted. He argued that, under normal legal procedure, an SIT is generally formed in connection with a registered FIR and questioned whether the current investigation met those requirements.
