Srinagar, Aug. 24 -- Congress on Monday mounted a sharp attack on the National Conference-led Jammu and Kashmir Government over its decision to hike electricity tariffs, with J&K Pradesh Congress Committee president Tariq Karra terming the increase "unjust, burdensome and completely unbearable" for the common people.

In a statement Karra said that at a time when households were already struggling with rising prices and increasing economic pressures, the government should have provided relief to consumers rather than adding to their burden through higher electricity bills.
