Bengaluru, May 18 -- A high-stakes round of talks between the State Government and employees of Karnataka's state-run transport corporations ended in a complete deadlock on Monday evening, with neither side willing to soften its stance on long-pending wage and arrears-related demands, pushing the state closer to a major transport shutdown on May 20.

With negotiations collapsing, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of transport trade unions has confirmed that its statewide bandh call will go ahead as planned. The move is expected to trigger widespread disruption across all four major transport corporations.
