Bengaluru, June 8 -- : Karnataka will hold elections to all panchayats in the state by the end of this year, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Eshwar Khandre said on Monday.

Speaking to reporters after an introductory meeting with senior officials of the department in Bengaluru, Khandre said the process of delimitation of constituencies and reservation will be completed within the next eight weeks.

After this, the Karnataka State Election Commission will take up the election process.

The minister said steps are also being taken to fill 4,000 of the 8,770 vacant posts in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Department.
