Bengaluru, March 26 -- Karnataka is set to implement a toll rate hike across major highways in the state beginning April 1, impacting commuters and transport operators alike.
The revision, part of the annual adjustment mechanism linked to inflation and the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), will see an average increase of around three per cent in toll charges at 62 plazas statewide. The move is aimed at funding the maintenance and upgradation of key road infrastructure.
The revised rates will affect a wide range of vehicles, including cars, buses, trucks, and multi-axle commercial vehicles, with variations depending on location and category.
