Bengaluru, May 15 -- Karnataka will roll out the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls from June 20 as part of a nationwide exercise covering 16 states and three union Territories, Chief Electoral Officer Anbu Kumar said on Friday.
The statewide drive will cover more than 5.55 crore electors across Karnataka, making it one of the largest voter list verification exercises in the country.
According to the schedule notified by the Election Commission of India, the first phase from June 20 to June 29 will focus on preparatory activities, including training of election officials, deployment planning, and printing and distribution of enumeration material.
