Bengaluru, July 1 -- Karnataka's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls got off to an encouraging start, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) distributing more than 12.48 lakh enumeration forms on the opening day of the statewide door-to-door voter verification campaign.
The largescale exercise, which covers 5,54,32,314 registered voters across the state, is aimed at updating and authenticating the electoral rolls by verifying voter details at the household level ahead of the publication of the revised electoral rolls.
According to official data, BLOs distributed 12,48,314 enumeration forms during house visits on Tuesday. The response from voters was equally positive, with 47,817 completed forms collected on the very first day. I...
