Chennai, Sept. 3 -- Observing that the Karnataka government has petitioned the Central Water Comission (CWC) seeking speedy approval for construction of a new dam at Mekedatu across river Cauvery, PMK President and Rajya Sabha MP Anbumani Ramadosson Thursday urged Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay to personally meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi,the union Jal Shakthi Minister and the CWC Chairman and request them not to grand permission for it.
The Chief Minister should also demand the withdrawal of the permission granted in 2018 for Karnataka to submit the Detailed Project Report for the Mekedatu dam, he said in a statement here.
