Davanagere, March 20 -- In a move that has set social media and political circles abuzz, Samartha Shamanur, son of Karnataka Minister SS Mallikarjun, filed his nomination for the Davanagere South by-election on Friday even before the Congress officially announced the party ticket.
He was accompanied by his mother and Member of Parliament Prabha Mallikarjun during the process. Prior to submitting the papers, Samartha visited local temples, offering prayers in a gesture blending political activity with tradition.
