Bengaluru, July 20 -- In a major governance initiative aimed at taking public services directly to citizens, the Karnataka government on Monday launched free doorstep delivery of caste certificates and Permanent Residence Certificates (PRCs), with Chief Minister DK Shivakumar asserting that the programme would eliminate bureaucratic hurdles and help safeguard the voting rights of eligible citizens.
Launching the scheme here, Shivakumar said government officials would deliver printed certificates to households across the state, while beneficiaries would also be able to download the documents free of cost through dedicated online portals or collect printed copies from government facilitation centres.
