Bengaluru, July 24 -- In a landmark step for gender representation in the higher judiciary, the Karnataka High Court has constituted an all-women judicial roster for its Dharwad Bench on August 1, with every court on the Bench to be presided over exclusively by women judges.

The special roster, issued on the orders of Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru, will see all seven courts at the Dharwad Bench - comprising three Division Benches and four Single Benches - function entirely under women judges, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the history of the Karnataka High Court.
