Bengaluru, March 16 -- Karnataka government has formally approved the hosting of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 matches at Chinnaswamy Stadium here, ending months of uncertainty about the venue's status following safety concerns.
The clearance was granted after a government-appointed expert committee reviewed the stadium's infrastructure, safety protocols, and preparedness to handle IPL fixtures. Officials from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) participated in the review meeting chaired by the state Home Minister.
