Bengaluru, Aug. 30 -- Karnataka Governor has accepted the resignation of B Nagendra as minister, with the Governor's office conveying the decision to Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's office.

Nagendra had announced his resignation on August 28 and subsequently submitted the resignation letter to Chief Minister Shivakumar at the latter's official residence, Krishna. However, the resignation had not been formally accepted at the time.

"I, Thawarchand Gehlot, Governor of Karnataka, hereby accept the resignation of Sri B Nagendra, Minister for Planning and Statistics, from the Council of Ministers with immediate effect," the letter addressed the chief minister said.
