Bengaluru, June 30 -- The long-pending expansion of the Karnataka Cabinet has gathered momentum, with Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expected to travel to New Delhi next week for crucial consultations with the Congress high command amid intensifying lobbying by ruling party MLAs for ministerial berths.

Party insiders said Shivakumar is likely to be accompanied by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president BK Hariprasad and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for discussions that are expected to shape the final contours of the Cabinet expansion.
