Bengaluru, Sept. 3 -- In a major push to position Karnataka as a global investment destination, the State Cabinet on Thursday approved the creation of a new Department of Global Investment and Overseas Affairs, with a mandate to directly facilitate foreign investments, engage the overseas Indian community and ensure that prospective investors do not leave the State frustrated by bureaucratic delays.
The decision is aimed at creating a dedicated institutional mechanism to receive foreign investors and overseas delegations, facilitate their interaction with Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and fast-track their proposals to the concerned departments.
