Bengaluru, May 22 -- Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Friday said the State Cabinet had decided to withdraw 52 criminal cases after a detailed legal review by a Cabinet Sub-Committee, asserting that each case was individually examined before clearance was granted.
Defending the Cabinet's decision, Parameshwara said the cases involved Kannada organisations, farmers' groups and several other organisations that had been seeking relief for many years through repeated representations to the government.
"Kannada organisations, farmers' organisations and several others had repeatedly submitted representations regarding cases filed against them. The matter was referred to the Cabinet Sub-Committee for examination," he told reporters here...
