Bengaluru, April 28 -- The BJP on Tuesday escalated its attack on the ruling Congress in Karnataka, alleging that leaders who once dismissed the Mangaluru cooker blast as "diversionary politics" are now confronted with a terror conviction in the case.
Leader of Opposition R Ashok targeted Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and other Congress leaders, accusing them of downplaying the seriousness of the 2022 incident for political reasons.
The BJP also circulated an old video of Shivakumar to highlight what it described as a contradiction between the Congress' earlier remarks and the court verdict.
