Bengaluru, April 30 -- A complaint has been submitted to the Karnataka Home Department seeking legal action against Abdul Razack and others, who allegedly projected themselves as Islamic clerics, and made provocative remarks during a press meet held in Bengaluru earlier this month.

The complaint, filed by Bengaluru-based activist A Alam Pasha, alleged that statements made during the April 22 gathering at the Bengaluru Press Club promoted communal disharmony and attempted to pressure the Karnataka government over possible action against certain Muslim leaders.

According to the representation, Razack warned of political consequences for the ruling Congress if action was initiated against Muslim legislators Naseer Ahmed and Abdul Jabbar. The...
