Kalaburagi, March 7 -- Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge today launched an attack on the Opposition over its criticism of the Karnataka Budget 2026-27 and also questioned the Centre's handling of foreign policy amid the ongoing tensions involving Israel, the United States and Iran.

Responding to Leader of Opposition R Ashoka's remarks on the state budget, Kharge said the BJP should instead explain the borrowing undertaken by the union government during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Then what does he have to say about Mr Modi's loan in the last 12 years? Who is repaying it? Kannadigas are paying for it," Kharge said while speaking to reporters here.
