Karnal, Oct. 19 -- Karnal Municipal Corporation is preparing a plan to turn discarded leaves, grass and branches into useful products, seeking to tackle open waste heaps and leaf burning while exploring revenue from processed material.
A municipal team led by Additional Municipal Commissioner Ashok Kumar inspected Chandigarh's horticultural waste processing plant to assess practices that could be adopted in Karnal. Municipal Commissioner Saloni Sharma directed the visit.
"The aim is to ensure proper management of dry leaves, grass, branches and other horticultural waste and convert it into useful products," Sharma said.
