Manchester, June 21 -- Marizanne Kapp produced a match-winning allround performance under pressure as South Africa Women defeated India Women by 6 wickets in a must-win Group A clash of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 at Old Trafford here on Sunday.
Chasing 159, South Africa reached 161/4 in 19.1 overs, powered by a breathtaking unbeaten 81 off 45 balls from Kapp.
India Women, after opting to bat first, posted 158/7 in 20 overs on the back of a blazing start from Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana. Shafali smashed 31 off 15 balls, striking four boundaries and a six, while Mandhana made 17 off 12. The pair gave India early momentum, but South Africa responded quickly through disciplined bowling.
