Mumbai/New Delhi, July 30 -- The long-pending case of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena's election symbol dispute with Eknath Shinde's Sena which will decide the legality of the recent defections by six rebel MPs of the Uddhav-led Sena was heard before the Supreme Court on Thursday.

The hearing was held before a bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V Mohana, according to party sources.

During the hearing, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena's lawyer Kapil Sibal clarified that he would like to present his arguments on the issue of the disqualification of MLAs who defected to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.
