Ashok RainaKangra, June 2 -- Rail connectivity in Himachal Pradesh received a major boost on Tuesday with former union Minister and Hamirpur MP Anurag Singh Thakur, along with Kangra MP Dr. Rajeev Bhardwaj, flagging off the restored narrow-gauge train service on the historic Pathankot-Jogindernagar Kangra Valley Railway line.
Passenger services resumed after nearly four years and 1,385 days of disruption caused by flood damage to the Chakki railway bridge in 2022.
Thakur said the restoration, made possible through the construction of a new bridge at a cost of about Rs 70 crore, would boost tourism, improve connectivity and support local livelihoods.
