Baijnath, May 24 -- Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Baijnath, Sankalp Gautam, has expressed serious concern over the increasing littering and dumping of garbage in the Vinwa River and Khirganga Ghat areas, during an inspection of the sites.
Issuing a stern warning to people polluting the river and ghat area, the SDM said that contamination of natural water sources would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He said strict action would be taken as per rules against anyone found throwing garbage or spreading filth in the river or surrounding areas in future.
Gautam said a special cleanliness drive would soon be launched in and around the Vinwa River to restore cleanliness and maintain an eco-friendly environment in the region.
