Mumbai, Aug. 12 -- Actress Kangana Ranaut has hit out at veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah over his criticism of Bollywood celebrities for remaining silent during student protests at Jantar Mantar, saying that people should stand up for and speak in support of the country they live in.

Ranaut also accused Shah of taking a position favouring a neighbouring country, adding another dimension to the ongoing war of words between the two actors.

Shah had expressed disappointment over the silence of Bollywood actors during the student agitation and said artists should speak out on issues whenever their conscience tells them to do so.
