Panchkula, Aug. 30 -- Kalka in Haryana's Panchkula district recorded 16 cm of rainfall in 24 hours, while the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a wet week across northwest India, with rainfall continuing over Haryana, Punjab and Delhi and a more intense spell expected over the western Himalayan region and Uttar Pradesh.
According to the IMD's All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued on August 30, rainfall occurred at isolated places over Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi and Punjab during the 24 hours ending at 8.30 am. Kalka recorded 16 cm of rainfall, and the IMD classified rainfall at isolated places over Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi as heavy to very heavy during the period.
